Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 29 July 2026

These terms govern your use of rafflewp.co.uk and the purchase and use of raffleWP software licences. raffleWP is operated by Laurence Caton, a sole trader trading as raffleWP, of Pickwicks Folly, Thorpe Lane, Trimley St Martin, IP11 0RZ, United Kingdom. By placing an order or using the software, you agree to these terms. If you buy for a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business.

The software and licence

raffleWP is WordPress software for building and operating competition websites. The plugin code is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (GPL-2.0-or-later). That licence governs your rights to use, inspect, modify, copy and redistribute the plugin code. Copyright, licence and bundled third-party notices must be preserved.

Your purchase separately provides a 12-month commercial service entitlement for the number of sites included with your plan. A Single Site licence key may activate official raffleWP services on one site; an Unlimited Sites licence key may activate those services on sites you own or manage. The 12-month term begins when payment is confirmed and the key is issued. Licence keys, customer accounts, signed update links and official support access are personal service credentials and may not be shared, resold or transferred except where we have agreed in writing.

The raffleWP name, logos, domain and other brand assets are not licensed for use in a modified or redistributed product except to identify the original software and preserve required notices. You must not present an unofficial or modified version as an official raffleWP release, imply our endorsement, use another customer’s service credentials or attempt to bypass licence checks to obtain protected services.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for your WordPress site, hosting, content, payment setup, competition rules, participant eligibility, age verification, promotions and compliance with laws that apply to your business and jurisdiction. raffleWP provides software only; it does not operate your competitions or provide legal, tax, gambling or regulatory advice.

Orders, delivery and payment

Prices and taxes shown at checkout apply to your order. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. Once payment has cleared, we provide access to the plugin download and licence key through your account and order confirmation. Please keep your account details secure and notify us promptly if you believe a licence key has been compromised.

Updates and support

Your licence includes official packaged updates, downloads, new site activations, configuration-settings access and email support for 12 months. We may update the software to improve security, compatibility or functionality. We do not guarantee that the software will work with every third-party theme, plugin, host or browser.

Expiry and renewal

Licences do not renew automatically and we will not automatically charge your payment method. During the final 30 days, the plugin displays an administrator reminder. To renew, purchase a new licence at the price and on the terms shown at that time, then replace the expiring or expired key in the plugin.

After expiry, the last installed plugin version and raffles already activated on that website continue to operate. Official updates, protected downloads, new site activations, email support and access to raffleWP configuration settings end until a new current licence is activated. You remain responsible for maintaining backups, security and compatibility if you continue using an older installed version.

Cancellation and refunds

Digital content may be supplied immediately after purchase. Consumer cancellation rights can change when you expressly request immediate supply and acknowledge that you may lose the right to cancel. Nothing in these terms affects mandatory consumer rights. Separately, we offer a 14-day refund promise for direct purchases; see our Refund Policy.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or revoke commercial service access if payment is reversed, a licence key is used outside its purchased activation scope, service credentials are shared, or these terms are materially breached. Unlike ordinary annual expiry, suspension or revocation may lock licensed functionality as well as ending new activations, official packaged updates, downloads, settings access and support. It does not retrospectively remove the GPL rights applying to plugin-code copies already received.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, raffleWP is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity. Our total liability arising from a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant licence in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you greater protection. Courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. Contact info@rafflewp.co.uk with questions about an order or these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you place an order will apply to that order unless a change is required by law or is clearly in your favour.
