raffleWP 1.4.0 lets competition organisers advertise a fixed cash alternative for selected main-prize positions. For example, the first winner can choose the advertised prize or £1,000, while the second winner can choose their prize or £100. Positions without a configured amount have no alternative. Instant prizes are unchanged.
Configure an offer before entries open
Edit the competition, open its raffle product options and find Cash alternatives. Enter a unique positive prize position and a positive amount for each offer. The store currency and WooCommerce rounding apply. A main prize already configured for cash fulfilment cannot also offer a cash alternative.
The competition page shows the full offer. Existing Raffle Card and Hero Card displays can show the first-prize alternative with a link to the prize details.
The advertised offer locks when the first ticket is successfully reserved or a postal entry is confirmed. Cancellation does not unlock it. Competitions with earlier entry history cannot gain alternatives retrospectively. A duplicate or preset creates a fresh draft with the offer copied and the entry lock cleared.
Collect the winner’s choice
An eligible main-prize award creates a private claim automatically. Automatic prize-claim invitations controls whether an invitation is sent. If it is off, send a link from Prize Awards or record the winner’s choice manually.
The winner must explicitly select Advertised prize or Cash alternative; neither is preselected. A physical-prize choice requests delivery details. A cash choice requests contact confirmation only. The offer and selected choice are saved with the claim so later product changes cannot rewrite that history.
Arrange fulfilment and corrections
Cash payments remain manual. The claim form does not collect bank details or transfer money. Mark fulfilment complete after arranging the actual payment.
Before dispatch or completion, an administrator can reopen a submitted choice with an audit reason. The previous selection remains in private history. Cancellation invalidates claim access; a redraw starts a fresh claim cycle. Public results continue to describe the advertised prize, and the customer’s selection stays private.
Understand the reporting
The Prize Value report shows selected and completed cash alternatives separately by currency. Selected totals include completed choices. These operational totals are separate from RRP and estimated profit. Choosing cash does not mean it has been paid and does not replace the costs entered in the competition cost and profit planner.
