The RaffleWP competition cost and profit planner estimates revenue, payment fees, profit and break-even before you launch a competition. Open RaffleWP → Prize Performance → Planner, or Competition tools → Cost planner in the product editor. Inputs are private and saved for that competition.
Enter actual costs, not the advertised prize value
Enter the main prize’s actual purchase cost, instant-prize budget, delivery, advertising and other costs. Zero is valid where you have no cost. Gateway percentage and fixed-fee assumptions come from Prize Performance. Prize RRP stays separate: existing competitions keep their labelled RRP comparison until an actual-cost plan is entered.
Set the expected mix of orders
Choose valid order quantities and configured bundles, then give each a share of expected orders. Shares must total 100%. For example, a 60% share for a small bundle means 60% of orders, not 60% of tickets. The default is the minimum valid quantity. The forecast reuses your competition’s bundle-pricing calculation.
Compare sales scenarios
Review projections at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of saleable capacity, plus your own percentage. Confirmed postal entries reduce saleable capacity because they occupy tickets without generating paid sales.
- Projected revenue: estimated sales excluding tax, using the expected order mix.
- Estimated fees: the configured percentage fee on the tax-inclusive payment, plus the fixed fee spread across expected order size.
- Estimated profit: expected income after estimated fees and the costs you entered.
- Break-even: the ticket count and share of saleable capacity needed to cover entered costs.
How does raffle break-even work?
Break-even uses expected net income per ticket after payment fees. This accounts for the fixed fee being spread across the expected order size, rather than charging a full order fee to every ticket. If the target cannot be reached within the available capacity, the planner says so explicitly. Amounts follow WooCommerce currency rounding.
Are these guaranteed profits or accounting figures?
No. The figures depend on entered costs, fee assumptions, expected orders and the store’s base tax calculation. Actual sales mix, destination taxes and gateway charges can differ. Use the forecast to compare a realistic range before committing to a prize, and reconcile actual results with WooCommerce and payment statements.
After launch, review refund-adjusted performance reporting. You can copy planning inputs into a fresh draft competition preset and complete the Launch checklist before opening entries.
